Hey folks - welcome to the Caster Clubhouse! We're so glad you're here and we hope you have a good time in our little corner of the MetaZoo community.
If you're new to our forum, this section (or 'board') is a great place to start - here, you can post an introduction for yourself and be welcomed by our community, get some immediate questions answered if you have any, and find some information on how the site - or MetaZoo! - works. You're not obligated to post an introduction, but we hope you do! We want to meet you, regardless of whether you just share a short post saying you're new and looking to chat about MetaZoo or give us a longer dive into you and your journey with MetaZoo, cryptids, trading card games and/or nerd hobbies in general - we welcome it all, just like you. ;)
We do want to take a moment, however, and remind people that unlike Discord or a Facebook group, the posts and topics made here are public, indexed by search engines and are viewable to visitors that aren't logged in. For this reason, we'd like to remind everyone to practice good internet safety and recommend that you don't share identifiable details about your life. This goes double-so for youth; don't go posting things that can help anyone find you! We recommend keeping details a little vague if you want to share - list your state instead of your city, "I'm a teenager" instead of your exact age, and so on. Though there are profile fields available for certain things, we do not require you to fill any of them out besides the pronoun option, and you are free to choose what you wish to make known.
In addition, we'd like to point you towards some of the best topics for beginners to visit; our Community Handbook covers all for our community's rules, guidelines and policies, and if you've never used a forum before, we recommend the Beginner's Guide to Forums for a rundown on how the site and your account works. If you're new to MetaZoo entirely, MetaZoo 101 goes over the game's history, basic mechanics and terminology, community staples and will direct you to more in-depth resources on things like learning how to collect and play the game. If you have any questions, ask us in your introductory post, head on over to another relevant board or even feel free to contact a Clubhouse team member, like myself! We want your stay here to be a good one.
And with that, I wish you happy casting and posting. See you soon!
P.S. oh, and if you've left for whatever reason and would like to post an "I'm back" thread, we welcome those too! You can even post a hiatus notice here if you're going to be absent from our community for a bit, and would like everyone to know - it's called the Front Door for a reason, after all. ;)
