Hello all! Welcome to the Caster Clubhouse, an unofficial community forum for the emerging trading card game, MetaZoo, and all its players, collectors, fans and content creators. Made by fans of the game, this space is intended to be a free, easily accessible, structured discussion area that isn’t tied to social media platforms, so you can share resources, information, ideas and thoughts about MetaZoo without it getting easily buried out of sight or lost to an algorithm.
This handbook covers our various forum rules, guidelines and policies. We recommend reading this topic in its entirety at least once, as creating an account on Caster Clubhouse assumes that you’ll be held to the standards listed here. This handbook is not considered to be comprehensive of every situation that may occur, and is subject to change without notice as needed - much in the manner of 'safety regulations are written in blood'. We'd prefer it if you didn't make us do that, though.

The Forum Rules
The Golden Rule - "Wheaton's Law":
Simple Rules:

You may register one account on the forum. You must be thirteen (13) years old or older to join. You cannot impersonate well-known figures in the community. (See verification policy below)

No inappropriate, graphic or explicit usernames, avatars (profile pictures) or signatures. No gifs or videos as avatars or in signatures. Please keep the overall height of your signature within 100 pixels.

Per MetaZoo's own policies; the sale or promotion of fake or counterfeit MetaZoo products is strictly forbidden, and the endorsement or usage of this forum to cheat on MetaZoologist exams is similarly strictly prohibited.

NSFW / explicit content cannot be posted directly to the forum. The rule of thumb is 'nothing worse than a MetaZoo card'.

The discussion of politics is strictly prohibited, as is the spread of (non-cryptozoology related) conspiracy theories, misinformation or "fake news", whether it's political or not. IE; you can talk about UFOs/UAPs or bigfoot sightings, you cannot suggest COVID is fake.

Do not spam or troll the forum; no emoji-only posts, rapid-fire mass replying, pointless messages, etc. Likewise, there is no censoring of swear words, but don't overdo it, folks! This is a public venue. People can see you here.

You're expected to adhere to rules or procedures in the pinned topics of their specific board, even if you didn't read them.
Serious Offences:

No harassment of community members. This include - sending repeated, unwanted messages to people; giving harsh, unsolicited criticism; repeated complaints someone won’t sell, trade or buy with you; extensive mocking or ganging up on others; and/or stalker-like or aggressive behaviour towards members. Sexual or threatening harassment will result in instant bans and the possible reporting of your IP address to the authorities.

Keep private details private. Doxxing is a serious problem that’s ruined people’s lives, and we don’t care about your reasons. Let the authorities handle it if someone has committed a crime, and report anything that happens here to the moderation team. Otherwise, we expect you to keep things shared with you private, to not post people’s names, ages, locations, emails, etc and to keep your info safe as well.

No illegal content. This includes; admittance or encouragement of crimes, endorsement of serious offences (such as assault, murder, etc) or telling someone how to do something illegal, including ‘light’ crimes. This does, unfortunately, includes digital piracy and any associated links or directions. We all hate Amazon and the Mouse, but you should be paying creators.

There is a zero-tolerance policy for bigotry or discrimination of any kind. This includes 'jokes' in ill-taste, inappropriate memes and general dick-ish behaviour aimed at marginalized and minority groups. Devil's advocating, straw-man arguments, 'hot takes’, 'all lives matter' or 'be tolerant of the intolerant' stuff isn't acceptable either; we follow the policy that tolerance is a peace treaty and those that break that treaty are not welcome, which the far right and intolerant do by design.
Specific Policies:

Verification Policy: Caster Clubhouse has a strict ‘no impersonation’ policy regarding both official members of the MetaZoo staff, and well-known figures in the community. Using the usernames, images or branding of these people without permission is prohibited, as is pretending to be a member of the MetaZoo staff. If you are actually one of those people, and wish to get yourself verified as such, please message @Alex if you are already registered, or use the contact form otherwise.
Secondary Market Policy: the secondary sale, purchasing, or trading of MetaZoo products is allowed on Caster Clubhouse, with the understand that at this point we do not have a formal policy or space to regulate these activities - so do so at your own risk. Caster Clubhouse is not responsible for transactions gone bad, and we highly encourage the use of trusted third-party platforms to minimize risk. As we grow, a classifieds board will be made available if there is the demand for it.
Advertisement Policy: the advertisement of your own relevant, MetaZoo-related content, businesses, sites, etc, is allowed in a limited capacity. You can post links in your signature and profile once available, and can make a (singular!) topic to share your content or advertise your profile, channel, business, etc. The general rule of thumb, however, is that you are expected to be otherwise active and engaging with other people's content, and that any blatant advertising is kept to a minimum; its fine to respond to someone's post looking for a product you have, for example, but update or post to your existing topic instead of making a new one every time you go live! Some exceptions may apply for tournaments or special occasions, by request. The advertisement of other, non-MetaZoo products or content is not directly allowed/encouraged, but we don't mind that you may also have other TCG/nerd content or products available on your platforms, and the occasional signature link to unrelated creative works (such as published books, or an art portfolio) won't be dinged as spam if you don't abuse the privilege.
