Hey folks! Do you run an online or in-person play group for MetaZoo? Whether officially sanctioned with a judge, or just a group of friends meeting at your house, you are welcome and encouraged to post a topic here advertising your group, where it’s going to meeting, and how others can join. A few notes, however, before you post that topic;

Your group’s topic should include the following information;

  • The Local Game/Comic Book Store or location you meet at.

  • How often, and when you meet, including the time.

  • If your games are sanctioned with a MZO judge or posted on the MPN.

  • How causal or competative your games are, and if there are fees or prizes for playing.

  • If there are decks to borrow or buy, and if kids can play or come along.

  • If a new player can just show up, or if they should contact you beforehand.

  • Any nearby parking or transit options.

  • Accessibility information; is it wheelchair accessible, a loud store, are pets present at the game, etc.

Please also keep the following in mind when making your topic;

  • Only make one topic/thread for your group. A group is defined as the same collection of players regularly meeting at the same time and place. If your group meets at a different location at another time, or you are a different group of players that meet at the same place as another, you are free to make a different topic for that.

  • You can post a one-off topic for a special event, however. If your group is hosting a special tournament, such as a medal or release event party, you are welcome to make a separate, one time thread to encourage travellers to participate.

  • Please prefix your title with your group’s state, province, territory, and/or region. Whether you are looking for a group or managing one, it is important to make it easy for others to know where you’re meeting. There are a lot of ‘Springfields’ in the USA!

  • It is recommended to have one of your judges or organizers make your group’s topic. You are welcome to have whoever you’d like make your group’s topic, but it should be someone who will regularly update it and post your event links.

If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact a member of the staff team, or post in the Comment Box.
