There has been an update formally released for the official Rulebook and Rules Index from MetaZoo! There is lots of new errata, rulings and clarifications available. Tragically, it has been ruled that Fur Bearing Trout is not a water page in terms of deck building. Sorry Tower Casters! Here are some other (but not all!) interesting rulings and changes that have been announced;
- Loveland Frogman doesn’t have a spellbook or chapter, so if you cast a spell through Loveland, bookmarking or discarding does not happen.
- Flying Manta Ray can continue to give a beastie flight even when paralysed.
- Grim Reaper got a LOT of rulings. Index and New Years New Beginnings don’t work on Grim. Intergalactic Space Council still works. There’s some other things as well.
- HiRO / Ziri affects all HiROQUEST sets.
- Losing & Removing a trait is interchangeable.
- Placing & Sending a Page to a Zone is also interchangeable.
- Dampen & The Hermit both got errata’d to say “spells in the resolution chain”.
- Aura Cost is not copied when making a token.
- Terra is not considered to be controlled by any caster in the game.
- Static Effect is a new term to describe page effects that are always active/true.
There’s more available, but it is interesting to see some of these changes become more standardized. Personally, I am very pleased with this - it feels like the game is becoming a lot more harmonized. What’s your favourite part of the changes so far? I’m interested to hear what others think.
